Genaker receives an “accessit” and special mention of the jury of the "Excellence in Technology Innovation Award", delivered in Barcelona the "8a Diada de les Telecomunicacions".
Barcelona, 29-09-2009
Miquel Teixidor, Genaker's CEO, received the award and pointed out that “for us this award is a very special recognition. Receiving the praise of our local colleagues in Catalonia represents a new motivation and responsibility to undertake new international challenges and projects. This award cheers us up to keep promoting our mobility solutions to improve productivity of mobile corporate users and their organizations”.
Within the framework of the “Diada” –an event organized by the “Association of BSc’s in Telecommunications’ Engineering of Catalunya” (COETTC), Miquel Teixidor chaired a roundtable focused on discussing mobility solutions in corporate environments.
The roundtable speakers were:
- Carles Grau, CEO of Microsoft Catalunya
- Xavier Casajoana, CEO of Voz Telecom
- Kim Faura, CEO of Telefónica Catalunya
- Antoni Masanell, deputy CEO of La Caixa
- Magnus Rahm, VP Multimedia of Ericsson España
- Xavier de Brossa, Managing Partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Catalunya
As an innovation on this event, assistants were able to make questions to the experts roundtable not only in-person but also on-line via Twitter. The experts agreed that the use of new technologies becomes cost- and productivity-effective almost in all scenarios. An interesting conclusion that rose as a result of the debate was: a change of the organizational and business management paradigm may be needed prior to realizing the benefits that IT technologies will deliver to all types of businesses.
Going deeper, Miquel Teixidor emphasized –as a closure of the day– one of the biggest messages of the Diada: innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) must not be considered as a “desirable” option but as an unavoidable key element in the framework of the whole corporate strategy. In the XXIst Century, corporate users, customers and providers must be integrated into the ICT strategy, not as a guarantee of success, but simply as a means to efficiently compete in today’s globalized markets.
