Barcelona, February 2009 - Genaker announces the availability of the first version of its genaker2200 Mobile Rich Communication Suite (RCS) client software during upcoming GSMA MWC 2009. This software allows any Java device to be used with a new generation of rich communication services scheduled to be launched this year.

Genaker software is a standard SIP/IMS client that provides information-rich buddy lists, instant messaging and the ability to start multimedia calls from any phone. This light client provides a very appealing user interface using the limited resources of the typical Java phone, at the same time it provides the basic set of functionality available on the high end devices. This product allows service providers to dramatically increase their target user base, not only to the owners of expensive smartphones, but also to the classical users of low-cost phones or prepaid customers, such as young or cost sensitive market segments.

Genaker will also present its 'content buddies' concept. Content buddies are advanced IMS applications that connect the Mobile and the Web worlds, bringing social network interaction and web content to the rich communication clients. These buddies, that can be available to any devices connected to the IMS cloud, both smartphones and Java phones, open a new spectrum of microsubscription services to service providers.

According to ABI Research senior analyst Nadine Manjaro 'RCS will enable interoperable rich communication regardless of device or network and will include in-call multimedia sharing, conversational messaging and presence-enhanced contact management for mobile and fixed customers'.
